Is there a website where I can locate a customer’s Employee Identification Number by searching with the company name?

No, there is not a website where you can search by a company name to locate a customer's Employee Identification Number. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) closely guards this information and does not make it available to the public.

However, the IRS offers a free Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) matching program, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can use this service to confirm a TIN/company name match. Please note that the agency will only acknowledge if a TIN number is accurate or “matches” the information provided. The IRS will not correct or complete TINs.

Your company must be listed in the IRS payer account file (PAF) database in order to participate. If your organization has not filed information returns with the IRS during one of the past two tax years, you are ineligible for the program.

To participate sign up at the IRS Registration Services. After you have registered you can log onto IRS e-services and begin testing TINs to learn if your information matches with the IRS's records.
